Volunteers are an integral part of Save A Child International. After all, we rely on our volunteers to provide accommodation and logistics support for children and one accompanying parent when they come over for treatment here in the United States. Aside from providing accommodation and logistics support, our volunteers also provide other valuable services – whether they are helping out with our programs or ensuring that our organization is running smoothly.
As a well-known children’s charitable organization in Atlanta, Georgia, we strive to build a solid team of dedicated, compassionate, and energetic volunteers who can help us continuously deliver support and services to children and families in need.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for volunteer opportunities without regard to race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, or creed. However, we are looking for the following must-have qualities of a SAC-INTL volunteer:
- Reliability
The children and families that we fly over from Africa need to have the assurance that they have somewhere to stay when they get to the United States. This is why it is highly important that our volunteers are reliable and can follow through on their commitment. As mentioned, we rely on volunteers to provide accommodation and logistics support. - Communication
Our volunteers should be able to listen and communicate well. Communication is key to ensure that things go smoothly and that everything is accomplished successfully. Communication is also highly important in understanding the needs of the family that they accommodate during a child’s treatment period in the U.S. - Flexibility
There are different positions that need filling at a moment’s notice. As a SAC-INTL volunteer, you may experience a different volunteer opportunity every day due to varying needs. One day, you could be providing logistics support to families and the next, you could be helping with medical missions. Volunteering in our organization requires many skills and as a volunteer, you need to be ready to grow and learn. - Teamwork
As one of the leading African children’s charities in Georgia, we have a wide network of staff and volunteers who are trying to reach the same goals that you are hoping to accomplish. As such, we are looking for volunteers who can work well in a team. Volunteers must listen to and follow orders, provide assistance when necessary, and cooperate with the team. - Good Organizational Skills
Since we primarily look to our volunteers to provide accommodation and logistics support, it is ideal for them to possess good organization skills. With good organization skills, tasks can become more manageable and efficient.
